How did you get started in your Quest to create Huit?

I have always been obsessed with how a space makes you feel - what emotions does it evoke - are you happy? relaxed? calm? inspired?  huit design has allowed me to do what I love and create these spaces for my clients.

What keeps you coming back every day?

Knowing that I make people's lives better by creating beautiful spaces and homes that bring them joy. I love what I do and I am passionate about design so I feel like being in this industry is my purpose.

Where do you go for creative inspiration (materials, shapes, designs, words)?

Most of my inspiration comes from my travels - I am very inspired by European design and especially French practicality. I find French design with a purpose. The homes and spaces are curated and meaningful.

When creating something new, how do you know when to call it good to go? - Essentially ( how do you know when to stop refining and consider it finished?)

Every aspect of the design process is thoroughly thought out down to the last detail. After the final installation process and the styling is done I do a walk through to confirm the end result is well balanced, inviting and inspiring.

Who do you admire most?

My mother. She always spoke her truth and she persevered no matter what.

What does success look like to you?

Having a career that I love and one that enables me to spend time and travel with my favorite people.

Love at first sight?

Absolutely.

What rituals or habits ground you?

Morning meditation, practicing gratitude daily.

Album you always go back to?

Rumours - Fleetwood Mac.

Favorite time of day?

Early mornings - when everything is quiet.

What tools do you use most?

A tape measure - every single day.

What do you do that is still analog?

I use my daytimer religiously - it's my bible.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

 My mom.

What do you crave most at the end of the day?

When work is busy (as it is now) I just want silence, my puppies and a binge worthy series on Netflix.

Datsun 620 or  VW 1987 Bus or Porsche 911?

Vintage 911 F model all day long.

Last book you read?

My Year of Rest and Relaxation - Ottessa Moshfegh.

How do you drink your coffee?

With a splash of 1/2 and 1/2.
